1. strong hospitality
2. a strong committee
3. a welcoming atmosphere
4. great speakers
5. good food / cold beverages
6. offer day care if you have lots of parents
7. support from area staff members
8. great signs, making the room easy to find
9. planning - follow the TOT manual!
10. Make it personal: a direct, personal invitation for people to attend, and a follow-up thank you note, to let them know that their presence mattered
